It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (ra) that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, “There is cure from every illness besides death in black seed.“
(Al Bukhari)
Buraidah Al Aslami (ra) narrates that he was with Allah’s Messenger ﷺ amongst forty two Companions whilst the Prophet ﷺ was praying at the Maqaam (place of Ibrahim). The Companions were seated behind him waiting for him. When he had prayed, he leaned forward towards the Ka’bah as though he wanted to grasp something. He then turned towards his Companions who rose. He signalled with his hand for them to sit down.
So they sat down. He said, “You saw that I leaned towards the Ka’bah as though I wanted to take something when I completed my Salah.” They said, “Yes, O Allah’s Messenger.” The Prophet ﷺ said, “Indeed Jannah was brought before me and I have not seen anything like that which is in it. And indeed a bunch of grapes passed by me which I admired. I leant towards it to take it but it proceeded me. If I had taken it, I would have planted it in front of you so that you would eat from the fruit of Jannah. Know that truffles are medicine for the evil eye, Ajwah dates are fruit from Jannah and that this black seed (which is in salt) is a cure for every illness besides death.“
